Cappannare is located on an ideal place to start
tours in the most beautiful villages and
towns of
Umbria, Tuscany and Lazio.
Montegabbione, picturesque town dates from
the 11th
century, whilst its origins go back to
Etruscan and Roman times. The town is
situated along
the communication route between Orvieto
and Perugia
( about 40 km
from Cappannare ).
Its fortifications (today are villages) are also of note

visit : Castel di Fiori
and Montegiove
.
Very near at Cappannare ( 4
km ) is the
Franciscan convent
of Scarzuola ( 13th century
),
founded by Saint Francis of Assisi.
In 15 minutes by car you can go to Parrano,
medieval town clustered around its castle are grottoes
eaten out by running
water in the course of thousands
of
years. Known as the “ Tane del diavolo
”
( Devil's Lairs ), numerous artefacts
dating to the
Upper Palaeolithic and the Bronze Age have
been found here.

village, located in a cliff, reachable by a pedestrian bridge.

( Viterbo - Lazio ) and Trasimeno
(Perugia - Umbria), the main lakes
of centre-Italy, you can
reach them in about 45 minutes by car.
